Unit Nine: Final Exam
This unit requires the completion of three activities that will help to evaluate what you have learned in this art class. You will create a final art project focused on demonstrating the elements of art, complete a written reflection using your portfolio as an aid, and finally, presenting to the class your favorite art project from this semester.
Task One: Final Exam Art Project
Your final exam art project will be a compilation of the Elements of Art: (line, shape, form, color, space, and texture). To complete this project you will take a square piece of paper and fold it corner to corner three times until you have eight equal segments. Then on the back of the paper, label each segment with one of the elements of art. The remaining two segments are for your name and the year. Each segment needs to be decorated with a visual representation of a different element. The segments for your name and school year must also be examples of your best work with creativity and effort put into creating unique fonts and compositions. You may use any of the classrooms available art supplies to complete this assignment. A copy of the rubric used to grade this section of the final exam is attached at the bottom of this page.
Task Two: Final Exam Written Refection
This section of your final exam will require you to look through your art portfolio and write a reflective essay in class about the projects you have completed and the concepts that you have learned this semester.
Task Three: Final Exam Presentation
For this portion of the final exam you will give a short presentation to your class about your favorite art project. You may select any of the projects that we have completed this semester. The final exam presentation form included below will help you to structure your presentation.
